INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS
The Department of Interior hopes to increase diversity in their
work force by providing internship opportunities to qualified
American Indian students. The ten-week summer internship will
provide a professional experience that will enable students to make
educated career choices.
A variety of intern placements within various disciplines are
anticipated. Some internship areas include:
*Geology *Engineering
*Computer Sciences *Political Science

*Pre-Law *Natural Resources

All applicants must have the following:
A minimum of 3.0 GPA
Have completed their freshmen year of college by June 1999
Be a currently enrolled student
Be a member of a federally recognized Indian nation
Internship Period: May 31 to August 6
Travel: Round-trip travel is included
Stipend: Determined by academic status
Housing: Initial assistance in locating suitable
housing within the interns budget will
be available
