I remember reading about the U'wa last year. Remember the fullpage ad in
the NY Times, outlining their conviction to jump to their deaths from a
cliff if the oilmen didn't back off? Their struggle to protect their
rainforest homeland in the face of a brutal oil development onslaught led,
in no small part, by those in the Occidental Pretroleum's executive suite,
and their stockholders, and its Chairman of the Board, no other than the
father of the Vice President of the United States, Al Gore. If you think
that the U'wa struggles against the oil barons and these recent horrific
murders are any way related (I do) and that the immediate finger of blame
towards the Leftist Guerillas is a strike against the Eagle/Condor
prophecies joining indiginous peoples of all the Americas, I suggest that
at least a portion of the rage and the questions and the demands of
immediate investigations be laid at the doorstep of Presidential Candidate
Gore.
