Subject: 'DIPITY What I was told last night

What goes around comes around.

The occupation military/government has been sowing the wind and will
soon be reaping the whirlwind. And those of us Native people, descendants
of the very peoples who were the earliest victims of the same occupation
government, will reap the same whirlwind if we follow them down their road
to doom. The spirits of our ancestors can protect us but so far. If we
blindly follow
the road of those who slaughter us, and justify it as they go after other
non-White people, a severe price will be paid. This Yonega society has led
us into a world of polluted air, water, food, a world of alcoholism, drug
addiction and abuse of women and children. A million people fill our
prisons, nearly that many fill the soup-kitchens and homeless shelters.
Lynchings are happening with regularity. Our children are committing
suicide because they don't want to live in this world. Many women must
choose to end the life of an unborn child because times are just so hard.

This is where the Yonega road has led us. Do not cheer for this road. Do
not fight to force others upon this road.

Last night the voices of our ancestors spoke to me. It was not Crazy Horse,
or Sitting Bull, or Geronimo. I heard the voices of our ancestors, the ones
whose names were not written and remembered. Our ancestors who walked the
red road, and were cut down because they were Indians; because this
occupation government wanted all that they had.

It is their prayers, that have been a source of protection for us - and
through us -
for this whole Turtle Island. We are the seventh generation that they
prayed would survive, as they left this life. Our ancestors made great
sacrifices to keep us alive.
Some went onto reservations. Some escaped reservations. Some hid who they
were. Some rode and marched bravely against the Occupation Government that
was trying to exterminate us. Some died, covering our great grandparents
bodies with their own.

I have heard that something is in the wind. If no differences can be found
between our causes and the cause of the Occupation government, between our
beliefs, and the beliefs of the Yonega society, that our children are
forgotten while we risk our lives for the stealers of our country, that we
will find ourselves standing outside of the protective circle.
