      WASHINGTON, March 24 -/E-Wire/-- The U.S. has 3.5 million miles of
rivers that are changing due to human intervention and natural disturbances.
These changes include loss of water quality, decreased water storage and
recreational opportunities, and loss of habitat for fish and wildlife. The
National Technical Information Service introduces the first edition of
Stream Corridor Restoration: Principles, Processes, and Practices, a
technical reference, to encourage public involvement in restoration planning
and implementation.
