Dear Mr Kazer,
thanks a lot for your reply. I had already tried the latest download from
the link u gave. they have the same problem- even after i make the following
change to the navit.xml- it does not work:
<graphics type="gtk_drawing_area" />
<gui type="internal" enabled="yes">

I found that there is no driver for gtk_drawing_area
in the navit/lib/graphics directory.
I downloaded gtk2.0 runtime and installed, and kept it under
navit/graphics/gtk_drawing_area directory but yet it did not work :(

Could you please give me the download link which contains all the necessary
files and drivers? or could you please help me how to actually use "internal
gui" ?? If i can run the internal gui of navit, I can concentrate on some
useful modification of the xml and contribute to this project! otherwise I
am stuck here :(
