Hi! I am trying to use the Maemo version from chollya.org/navit. It more or less works but I found the following issues:
- Theming does not work properly, coordinates and sizes areas tend to become way too large - Transparency in themes does not work, solid backgrounds become 100% filling and are not opaque - Drawing error - I quite have "streets" or other linear elements crossing the whole screen. Especially in not so dense areas this happens more frequently. Seems like a clipping issue. - Hangs very often - especially when zooming in/out Navit just freezes - my be related to the clipping issue? All of the above can not be observed on x86 / PC so I assume this has to do with ARM cross issues, like different drawing engine (both times I use the "internal" GUI but Maemo5 has different underlying drawing than x86 (Ubuntu 10.4 in my case)). It could also have to do with alignment issues. This is a quite common problem with porting software to ARM since ARM has a strict type alignment - "pragma pack" could probably help at the right spot? And for this issue I am not sure if it also applies to x86: - Button positions / functions from themes are not honored - e.g. the zoom-in / zoom-out button function is always lower left and right of the screen. I have to test this more. Anyway, nice stuff being bale to have whole Germany with me on my N900 without the need for an online connection! Hopefully the above mentioned issues can be resolved some day. If I can help diagnose the above further, just let me know.
