Thanks a lot for forwarding this to IRC! As you can see with my reply IRC is not my preferred medium for such communication. Most of the time I am sitting at work and have to work and cannot continuously watch IRC. So I prefer mailinglists, sorry... > Here is his answer : > Hi Hi! > 2010/7/7 KaZeR <[email protected]> > I am trying to use the Maemo version from chollya.org/navit. > It more or less works but I found the following issues: > It is my playground, so it is not even supposed to work :-) Sure! Ah, this might be the reason. I think I am using a downloaded germany file (lost track of the source). I will try to get a vanilla OSM file and convert it with latest Navit converter tool myself and see if this fixes this. > - Hangs very often - especially when zooming in/out Navit just > freezes - > my be related to the clipping issue? > Same as above. Could you please show your OSD config? This is strange... this is the very same config I started with which worked fine on x86 and I just copied it over to my N900 (to the user's .navit dir). By now I manually shifted and resized the boxes - quite boring exercise ;) > Anyway, nice stuff being bale to have whole Germany with me on > my N900 > without the need for an online connection! > Thanks! You're welcome! Nokia Maps on N900 really sucks - the half online and half offline mode which is not really user controllable (which map ends up in the device and which not) and the lack of turn by turn navigation (the N900 is by now the only Nokia smart phone that did *not* get the nav function) is really disappointing - to say the least. And besides this the Maemo port show the portability of Navit which is good in itself already. > Hopefully the above mentioned issues can be resolved some day. > If I can > help diagnose the above further, just let me know. > Sure, more bug reports - less bugs in the future :-) :) I will check the above especially the map/hang issue but als the theming part and let you.
