hm.. the question is what result would you consider correct or sensible in such a case. You could try + "w highway=path,mtb:scale=0,sac_scale=hiking pmtb_scale0\n" and if I am guessing right it might result in just one path of type pmtb_scale0. Not sure though if this how it should be done. An alternative might be keeping the distinct paths and use styles for walking and biking which would display either "hiking" or "pmtb_scale0" somehow.
