Has the Holy Spirit brought Jesus into
your heart as...
The Indwelling
Christ
(1 John 3:24b KJV)
Hereby we know that he
[Christ] abideth {lives and remains} in us,
by the Spirit which
he has given us.
(Rev
3:19-22 KJV)
As many as I love, I
rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
{20} Behold, I stand at the
door, and knock:
if any man hear my voice,
and open the door,
I will come in to
him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
{21} To him that overcometh
will I grant to sit with me in my throne,
even as I also overcame,
and am set down with my Father in his throne.
{22} He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Christ lives in us as our Heavenly Guest!
What a wonderful and precious truth for the Christian to meditate upon! What a
blessed and glorious spiritual reality and experience for every child of God to
have here on the earth, and to know in this life!
Christ lives in us! Exactly what do these
words mean to us now? It is the Presence of Christ, His own Self,
exercising influences which are inseparable from his Presence, and only to be
realized when He dwells in us.
H. O. Jones:
---------------------
In a book entitled "Sanctification", Charles G. Finney further expounds this blessed truth:
------------------------
Today we need desperately to rediscover the difference
between these two stages in Christian experience. If we are ever going to
produce the sort of believers suited for our day and time, we all need to
realize that there is a vast difference between accepting Jesus as our Savior
and knowing Him as our Indwelling Guest. Today, as almost never before, we need
a generation of believers with spiritual dynamic: believers with Christlike
purity, power, and passion. Unless we rediscover the revealed truth that only
through the Holy Spirit does Christ dwell in the hearts and lives of believers,
we can not begin effectively to meet the challenge of this critical hour. Hence
we must not only teach our new converts that they should accept Jesus Christ as
their personal Savior. We must also carefully lead them to allow the Christ of
God, through the Holy Spirit, to come into their hearts as their Heavenly Guest.
Unless the believer acknowledges this ministry of the Spirit within his heart
and life, how can he ever rightfully call Christ Jesus his
Lord?

Gal 2:20
(KJV)
I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live;
yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me:
and the life which I now live in
the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of
God,
who loved me, and gave
himself for me.
Col 3:1-4 (KJV)
If ye then be risen with
Christ,
seek those things which are
above,
where Christ sitteth on the right
hand of God.
{2} Set your affection on
things above, not on things on the earth.
{3} For ye are dead,
and your life is hid with Christ in God.
{4} When Christ,
who is our life, shall appear,
then shall ye also appear
with him in glory.
John 14:15-21 (KJV)
If ye love me, keep my
commandments.
{16} And I will pray
the Father,
and he shall give you another
Comforter,
that he may abide with you
for ever;
{17} Even the Spirit of
truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither
knoweth him:
but ye know him; for he dwelleth
with you, and shall be in you.
{18} I will not leave you
comfortless:
I will come to you.
{19} Yet a little while,
and the world seeth me no more;
but ye see me:
because I live, ye shall live
also.
{20} At that day ye
shall know that I am in my Father,
and ye in me, and
I in you.
{21} He that hath my
commandments, and keepeth them,
he it is that loveth me:
and he that loveth me shall be
loved of my Father,
and I will love him,
and will manifest myself to
him.
John 17:13-24
(KJV)
(Jesus
said,)
And now (Father),come I to thee;
and these things I speak in the
world,
that they might have my joy
fulfilled in themselves.
{14} I have given
them thy word;
and the world hath hated
them, because they are not of the world,
even as I am not of the
world.
{15} I pray not that
thou shouldest take them out of the world,
but that thou shouldest keep
them from the evil.
{16} They are not of the
world, even as I am not of the world.
{17} Sanctify them through
thy truth:
thy Word is
truth.
{18} As thou hast
sent me into the world,
even so have I also sent them into
the world.
{19} And for their sakes I
sanctify myself,
that they also might be sanctified
through the truth.
{20} Neither pray I for
these alone,
but for them also which shall
believe on me through their word;
{21} That they all may be
one;
as thou, Father, art in me,
and I in thee,
that they also may be one in us:
that the world may believe that
thou hast sent me.
{22} And the glory
which thou gavest me I have given them;
that they may be one, even as we
are one:
{23} I in them, and thou in
me,
that they may be made perfect in
one;
and that the world may know that
thou hast sent me,
and hast loved them, as thou
hast loved me.
{24} Father, I will that
they also, whom thou hast given me,
be with me where I am;
that they may behold my glory,
which thou hast given me:
for thou lovedst me before
the foundation of the world.
