There is little doubt that the BJP is inspired by Joseph Goebbels who said that
a lie repeated a million times begins to sound like the truth.
BJP kept telling the country that the economy had collapsed under the UPA but
that was until global agencies stated the facts. India is the third largest
economy in the world and it had jumped 7 places since 2005.
BJP appears to be running dry on their lies and propaganda against the UPA. So
they are coming up with feeble arguments now. Senior BJP leader Shri Yashwant
Sinha, who failed miserably as Finance Minister during NDA regime and was
removed for this reason, has made some laughable accusations.
In an interview he has said GST and DTC is high on BJP’s agenda. The fact is
when the UPA had almost reached a consensus on GST it was the BJP Government’s
in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat who stalled further progress. Read more about it

Shri Sinha has accused the UPA of failing to bring down the fiscal deficit,
when the truth is that we are well on our way to containing the fiscal deficit
at 4.6%. As Shri Chidambaram said, the worst years since liberalization were
2000-01 (when the fiscal deficit was 5.7% and GDP growth was 4.3%) and 2002-03
(when it became worse; fiscal deficit rose to 5.9% and GDP fell to 4%).
Lies do not become truth by repeating them; they only become bigger lies. BJP
leaders, unfortunately, are slow learners. They learnt it once in 2004. They
learnt it again in 2009. Now they want to learn again. So be it..
