The University of Southern Maine is looking for a Head Coach to lead our program. Position Type: Part-Time. Job Location: Portland, Maine. Contact Name: Al Bean. Description: The Head Sailing Coach will be responsible to direct all phases of the University of Southern Maine's co-educational club sailing program. The successful candidate will prepare all sailors for competition, plan and direct all practice sessions, coach the team at all regattas, direct all USM home regattas, coordinate travel plans, accompany or drive the team's transportation, follow all departmental and University policies, ensure all compliance requirements, monitor the academic progress of all student-athletes, develop a recruiting program within the guidelines of the NCAA and NEISA, promote good conduct and sportsmanship, and project a positive image as a role model for the students on the team. The head coach will also coordinate directly with SailMaine, to promote sailing at all levels. The head coach will also be involved with maintenance of all equipment including boats.
