Kind of feels like Godel-Escher-Bach! LOL

Anyway, I'm off into cloud cuckoo land at the minute and if I decided to try to produce a 'Scheme-like' language that could generate Flash, I need to know what would be the most efficient approach in terms of effort would be.

Would it be:
(1) re-using 'something' in haxe that will build a SWF for me or would it be
  (2) translating into Haxe and let nature take its course ?

For my money I guess just writing a translator means that the rest is all done for me but that feels like a non-interactive world.

What I would truly like is a way of having the Flash app function and I could still hack the code using my language while it was still running, within reason of course i.e. I wouldn't expect to be able to change the Flash player instance or anything real clever but I would settle for a Smalltalk like IDE where I can continue to grow my application.

So, comments please!
