Welcome back to the IT Management Reference Guide, developed in conjunction with the Harris Kern Enterprise Computing Institute. In last week's update I presented some of the benefits and drawbacks of using contractors and consultants. This week's update complements that topic by discussing how to decide between the use of contractors versus consultants.

Major accounting firm consultants made headlines a few years ago when the story of the Enron fraud broke amidst other corporate scandals. Scott Laliberte and Ajay Gupta offer a piece this week related to this topic of executive fraud. It is an excerpt from their book Defend I.T.: Security by Example and is entitled The Role of Computer Forensics in Stopping Executive Fraud.
