Agreed. My question is, given the kind of people we're talking about,
would you get better results with an agile process? I don't know. I
suspect not. I almost feel that a lot of the "failiure to adopt XP
tales" may be issues of trying to work with the people available.
I have no doubt that you could get better results with an agile
process and the right developers, but I also firmly belive we could
get better results with just having the right developers and letting
them pick or create their own process.
I know if I choose an agile process, my hiring process must reflect
that. Therefore, if I already have a group of people I need to work
with, I think my choice of development process depends on who these
people are.
But I could be wrong. I often am.
