Joel, you really get into that salmon fishing.  Sounds like it's for spring chickens who are in shape and not us old worn out roosters.  Sounds like Jan might be ready to go.  I've run into a few things catfishing in the past when I used to handfish.  Noodlin, Grabbin or whatever ya wanna call it.  I got a 63 lb flathead that way out of an old submerged car body one time and a bunch of smaller ones.  I ran into a big snapping turtle that kinda changed my mind about stickin my hand in holes for catfish.  One of them that could have taken about 3 or 4 fingers off with one chomp.  Kinda like to keep them fingers where they're at.  I've ran into water mocassin nests in brush piles doing that too.  Look up and see a bunch of little bitty tounges waving at ya.  I ran a catfish fin all the way into the top of a thigh one time.  I tell ya, with barbs on it they sure go in that leg a lot easier than i t is to pull them back out.  I think I'm gonna enjoy reading about your salmon fishing up that way.

Amy, to save a little email box space, one good recipe deserves another.  Here's my moms homemade hushpuppy recipe.  Hope some of ya try it.
