   That seems to be the latest location. My old boat had them mounted on the 
outer edge behind the side stays and it did seem to flatten the jib a little 
too much.  Another thing I have alot a guys to be doing is putting all the jib 
cleats and rudder cleats on the center tube.  makes it nice to have everything 
close at hand instead of hopping all over the tramp.  Speaking of tramps (lol) 
I am looking for a tramp and a set of sails(sleeve main) if you happen to know
