The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global consortium
dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux in the enterprise,
announced the completion of a global Linux market share and forecast
study conducted by market research firm IDC that predicts the overall
market revenue for desktops, servers, and packaged software running on

up in arms. I am a very public, very fierce supporter of the Open

Hmm, is this like Knoppix on a diet perhaps? The report that
Knoppix was slimming down immediately got my back-alley sense of humor
into a frenzy almost instantly. Yet, on a serious note, what does a
slimmed-down version of Knoppix really mean to us? Well basically, it
is the just what the doctor order when it comes to older PCs. After

wife enjoys working with the digital camera but is not much interested
in messing with the command line to mount directories. To get around
