Totally agree with you.
I have the feeling that the list of "management approach" you listed
is designed for people who care more about the communication and
marketing of their IT organisation, than about what they really
produce which might be usefull for their end-user business.
Useally, when I talk to people who want to adress those communication
issues whithin an XP context, I suggest to consider the communication
artifacts (documents?) they recquire to be produced as XP-Stories with
associated cost and value. Not more, not less.
