Dear Member,

Some members have written in asking questions about the Russian Christmas and
New Year celebrations. There seems to be much confusion surrounding the subject.

December 25th - Christmas according to Gregorian calender
January 7th - Russian Orthodox Christmas according to Orthodox calender

"Christmas" as such has really only become popular and accepted since the fall
of the old FSU regime, prior to that "religious" holidays were not encouraged.

Russian women are always happy to celebrate both Christmas on Dec 25 and on Jan
7 (Orthodox Christmas) but most of all they expect gifts on New Years Eve.

For over 50 years during Soviet times the women of these countries only
expected to receive gifts at New Years eve, this was and still is the main
holiday for them, far more important that either Gregorian or Russian Christmas.

To send a gift to your special lady at New Years eve, simply go to her page and
press the "Send me a Gift" button. You will be guided thru the process.

Wherever the lady agrees, we will send you a photo of the delivery.
