I don't know about the 31 but it was the "first" mod we made to Cuttlefish. We led the control lines to the amas with a cheek block just aft of the hatch to keep the line handy but out of the way. Turning blocks on the aft lifting eyes position the line on the aka and you don't even look to grab it (from either side).
It took us a long time to figure out what to do with it and now use it more than the main sheet. Ours has been banged around a bit and is "stubborn" in light winds but at 30 knots, it's a dream. Use 5/16 (Stayset is fine) if you have big hands like mine. Otherwise 1/4 will handle the loads.
