I've never seen this particular problem, so I'm not sure this may work but the last time I had problems with unwanted material I went to Add/Remove programs and got rid of a few suspicious programs I saw there and things cleared up. So, try looking for something installed that shouldn't be there. Hopefully that'll do it.
