Susie in Tampa.. Thanks for a really great lead with that link, but
where were you 3 mos. ago. I had some rot under a post for the roof
of my porch and didn't want to prop it up to rebuild under it (it
would have ruined the soffit and facia as well as the post itself) so
I bought some "git-rot" which worked well, but after all said and
done, a quart of the stuff cost $100.00.
Dad (Duane)..The note to wire the choke to the resister or coil
reminds me of the time years ago, when I installed one of those
white 'running lights' on the grill of my '50 Chev and wired it to
the coil.(if you are under 55 years old you don't know about that
craze) The thing started running like it had lumpy gas. The
mechanic at the gas station immediatly cut that wire, problem solved.
He explained that most often that was OK, but sometimes it robbed
the coil of just enough juice to cause problems.
