I am using this command now:
$ sudo dpkg --force-all -P neo4j
and I get this error:
(Reading database ... 500999 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing neo4j ...
invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/neo4j-service not found.
dpkg: error processing neo4j (--purge):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 100
Errors were encountered while processing:
neo4j
