I am running Neo4J Enterprise on a box with 264GB of ram. there is nothing else
running on the box. We are still trying to figure out the best settings for
rapid search of a growing dabatase (35 million nodes, 150 million relationship
and growing).

If I set the heap size to anything larger than 200GB Neo fails to start because
the relationship and node cache array tries to configure an size that is larger
than the largest allowed Java array. I tried explicitly setting those to a
setting like .8 but the config won’t allow a size smaller than 1, hence the
limit of a 200GB heap.

My other memory settings are indicated below:

node store mapped memory = 3G
relationship mapped memor = 15GB
propertystore mapped memory = 15G
string and arrays mapped memory = 230M each
node cache = 25G
relationship cache = 30G

I’m clearly looking to optimize query and graph traversal speed and willing to
cache as much as possible in memory. We so a lot of faceted searches with
counts. If you can recommend better settings I would be much obliged.
