I can only really speak for spatial support. For full-text in the schema
indexes, I understand things are planned, but someone else might need to
chime in here.

For spatial, we are planning on adding both support for spatial
capabilities to the Cypher language, as well as a new internal spatial core
built into the database itself (ie. not as an external library as the
current system is). The details and schedule for this are not yet ironed
out or published, but I can say that much discussion and design has been
done as well as some prototyping. See, for example, the GSoC done this
summer for 'Spatial Cypher
<https://github.com/johnymontana/neo4j/wiki/tutorial>'. The final official
version will not be much like that work at all, but it does give you an
idea of what is possible.
