I believe the dga test program is for DGA2, in 4.x versions of XFree86,
so that probably explains why it fails on 3.3.6 (that's where you tried
it, right?)

Maybe someone who uses VMware will speak up...  I can't say whether the
dga test is enough for VMware or not.  VMware used to have compatibility
listed on their website, if they say 4.1.0 will work, then we should be
able to get it working.
