I second that.   It only takes about 5 mA of current through the heart to go
into ventricular fibrillation.  At 500V, this thing can fry you, let alone
electrocute you.

This thing is powerful enough to kill you.

A nixie tube uses only a few mA of current. Why run the risk of 
electrocution when you can buy something like a Tayloredge switching 
supply for $12 and be safe?
