I have used the the Supertex HV5812 with IN-16's and IN-14's. It is a 5 volt supply chip that is available in a 28 pin DIP package. It has 20 outputs, so it can drive 2 tubes in direct mode, or 6 tube (2 X 3) multiplexed. Also, it uses a lot less power than the nixie TTL driver IC's.
It works well.
