I'm always buying B7971s. If someone desperate for a few more tubes wants them,
by all means sell 'em, if nobody steps forward, I'll buy them no problem. I
have dreams of making a twitter message notification system from 7971 tubes and
about 20 of the Cogwheel x8 boards (unless someone would like to step forward
and create something more integrated and application specific) -- a Lectrascan
type arrangement would be stellar, remember tweets are 140 chars and I need
about 50 or more tubes to pull this off.

It's going to be a showpiece though, for sure, once it's done. I want to spare
no expense in how it's built and shown, hoping Michael Barile might want to
help me work out what it's going to look like, I think it's going to be
sufficiently large that it will need to be able to be hung on a wall.

You heard it here first, folks, I don't think anyone else has ever proposed
reading tweets on a nixie display, it will go nicely with my friend and
ex-employee's teletype that he has wired up to twitter, very retro-tech. Here's
a photo of his teletype connected to one of our favorite ICB channels, it
really makes me think I need a teletype next in my retro tech collection.
Networked, of course.
