Hi I am a new member but I think I have done a pretty good job with my first clock. I have mine set up 1x4 and I run the 74141 and 4x anode drivers off a single shift register. At first I got a loud whine that changed frequency with different number, but after putting a 33uf 200v cap it stoped ALL noise :D its so simple. so mine is set up like this ... Nixie <- current resistor <- cap going to gound <- power supply
