This is pretty common. I can't count the number of people that have seen one of my clocks and said, "Wow, that is really neat with those vacuum tubes..." There's not a single vacuum tube in any of my nixie clocks.. (Although my VFD clocks of course are vacuum). Maybe someday I'll build a big and beautiful vacuum tube nixie clock, but in the short term I have all the vacuum tubes that I need just dealing with amateur radio. :)
