I am quietly working on an idea for a neon ring counter clock and
have 1,000 IN-3s waiting to be abused in the process 200 have been
baked in so far, but not batched and matched.
My clock will not be in any way purist or elegant in the electronics
department. I feel that has been done by others far better than I
could ever do.
I shall be using PCBs, maybe surface mount, I shall probably use a
micro-controller to bring the rings back in line and maybe to
initially set the time and have battery backup. I shall use
transistor drivers for the nixies that will be in there too.
I want the thing to be usable rather than be an erratic proof of
concept.
I also have a few charlieplex ideas using RGB LEDs to lay to rest.
Lots and lots of projects I want to do with neon bottles and various
other neon-based devices, but life seems to get in the way,
