Ok, my "clock" currently consists of a single tube being driven by a K155ID1. It just counts 0 through 9 then blanks for a second as well. The blanking is done by turning all cathodes off via 0000 at the inputs to the K155ID1. I do not see any leakage or ghosting during the blank. I am not planning on multiplexing. Is there some other reason I should avoid blanking by turning off all cathodes? Will I burn something up over the long run?
