It will be fine as long as your supply voltage is around the 180v mark.
If you feed your nixies with something like 250v, you'll see that the
74141 is no longer able to blank the nixie. :)

Ok, my "clock" currently consists of a single tube being driven by a
K155ID1. It just counts 0 through 9 then blanks for a second as
well. The blanking is done by turning all cathodes off via 0000 at
the inputs to the K155ID1. I do not see any leakage or ghosting
during the blank. I am not planning on multiplexing. Is there some
other reason I should avoid blanking by turning off all cathodes?
Will I burn something up over the long run?
