It will be fine as long as your supply voltage is around the 180v mark. If you feed your nixies with something like 250v, you'll see that the 74141 is no longer able to blank the nixie. :)

well.  The blanking is done by turning all cathodes off via 0000 at

other reason I should avoid blanking by turning off all cathodes?
