Hey everyone! Got some news on the supply! I got some replacement parts (big thanks to Threeneurons here), and got it all working as intended. I replaced the diode and the FET, I left the cheap chinese coil on, and it all worked like a charm. So I guess I'll be pointing my blame finger on the diode.. Finally, I can now continue the second part - coding :)
