It sounds like eliminating the RFI from a SMPS will be testing! I'll
try quickly fabricating a shielding box for the HV SMPS modules I have
and see what effect that has. I assume that's a Faraday cage? Can I
clarify that "RF feedthroughs" are RF feedthrough capacitors? Might
also try a EMI filter as suggested...

If my efforts fail, either syncing with the HV off or going with the
idea of an off-board receiver module are decent fallbacks. I'll might
even consider just removing the MSF sync altogether (been there done
that) and using an accurate RTC/TXCO instead...
