You need both the feed-through capacitors and the BNXs (or similar) -
the filtering MUST be inside the box. The copper of the FR4 should be
grounded.
And, yes, its a sort of Faraday cage.

Have a look at the DS3234 family or MCP79410. Very good & cheap
devices.
