I thing it would be even better if you could change the nixie by a VFD digit, It should be better color matching.
@John: Isn't it the principle of working of the E1T it runs through the digits ? As far as I remember it is a self counting display. eric -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John Rehwinkel Sent: zaterdag 4 februari 2012 16:19 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [neonixie-l] E1T clock > I have been away from this group for a while due to travel etc but now > I'm back with a link to a video of my latest clock. That's a good looking case, and a really nifty and unusual clock. I like it a lot. I have one question, and one thought to add: Do you update the digits by sweeping entirely through all of them for visual interest, or to provide an opportunity to check the tube synch each time? Maybe you could PWM the nixie to make it a little dimmer, to match the E1Ts. As it is, it's a lot brighter, and I'm guessing you're running it at its rated current, so reducing the current wouldn't be a good idea. You could just add a filter, but throwing away nixie photons seems like a crime, so keeping it off part of the time (getting more life out of it) seems like the way to go. - John -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "neonixie-l" group.
