Yeah, same here. I too used to play with mercury when I was a kid. Oh sure, yes, it would be harmful if you poured it out into a big pan and heated it on the stove and stuck your head in the pan to inhale the vapor.
But, just normal everyday handling? I think people are freaking out about nothing. Such is the case though about lots of things now, so it's no real big surprise.
