Hi Nick, Yes that is true, but what if the nixies are not on? Suppose the tubes blink when setting the time? The anode voltage could be 250V-300V while the cathodes will be held at 100V, effectively powering the nixies by 150-200V. Don't you think they might turn on? Maybe not, but it was just a guess.
