Hello Frank,

I don't know how many clocks will run over 180V but I did read
somewhere that some people just take the rectified mains power and use
that to drive the nixies. I wouldn't recommend doing that, but
apparently some people choose simplicity over safety. Now I don't know
in which part of the world those people live, but that are potentially
voltages that can go up to over 300V. So that was regarding my remark
that it will work for as long as the voltage is not too high.

About the nixie watch, which is off topic in this thread, all I want
to say is that it won't be disappointing :-).
