Then I'll try to free the PD0/SCL pin, so you can use the AT90USB1286's I²C controller. The last obstacle is the power: As you can see on page 6 in http://www.tayloredge.com/storefront/SmartNixie/DataSheets/Datasheet_1363-1364.pdf the 1364 can only deliver 5,5 W or 27 mA when supplied with 5 V.
