The point you all or y'all missed is we live in a quasi police state. "If you see something, say something! " Everyone is encouraged to provide the 'man' info on anyrhing. I do not doubt that to someone unfamiliar with homemade devices of any kind much less electronic that it was 'remarkable'. Thus causing the need to report it. I don't care what color or ethnicity the kid was the fact has been drummed into school people especially to report things which 'look dangerous'. None of these people would have been able to cope with the time I grew up. Heck we even took our .22 rifles to school on occasion. No conclusion but yes race card.
