You should have seen my buddy's basement before he moved. He had a really nice "rec' room" with a pool table, arcade games (Haunted House with a broken vortex in the backglass because the motors they used all went bad), fancy audio system including a pair of electrostatic speakers he bought at a yard sale, a bar... And all of it was buried. Stuff piled all over the billiard table, a dozen 17" CRT monitors underneath it and so on. A side room with piles of Tek scopes and computer parts up to the ceiling. Then his "shop" with at least a dozen caddies full of actually desirable tubes, filing cabinets full of schematics and service manuals, and a 7' rack cabinet completely filled with gear. That's where the Nixie stuff came from. His real shop was his garage.
