You should have seen my buddy's basement before he moved. He had a really nice 
"rec' room" with a pool table, arcade games (Haunted House with a broken vortex 
in the backglass because the motors they used all went bad), fancy audio system 
including a pair of electrostatic speakers he bought at a yard sale, a bar...

And all of it was buried. Stuff piled all over the billiard table, a dozen 17" 
CRT monitors underneath it and so on. A side room with piles of Tek scopes and 
computer parts up to the ceiling. Then his "shop" with at least a dozen caddies 
full of actually desirable tubes, filing cabinets full of schematics and 
service manuals, and a 7' rack cabinet completely filled with gear. That's 
where the Nixie stuff came from.

His real shop was his garage. More arcade games in various states of repair and 
anything else that was too big to put anywhere else.

You should see the shop I'm going to have when I win the lottery. Detached from 
the house in case of a fire. Necessary because of the neon department..
