After a long time sat on the shelf I finally completed the build of this
B5971 Smart Socket based clock.

It shows time, date, temp, pressure and scrolling messages.

It does NTP sync, has a Web gui and an option for a PIR. The GUI allows
setting of the ten user defined messages for scrolling, clock on and off
times, PIR delay times, timezone and display units (metric/imperial).

The B5971 is a multi segment tube. Each one has a PIC doing all the hard
work of character formations and transformations. The controller at the
back sends serial commands to the display chain as well as control a string
of APA-106 leds providing tube underlighting for those that want it.

The bigger brother of this clock uses B7971 tubes to display the same data
across 8 digits or more.
