Your desk is certainly a live/theatre type, probably from late in original Series I production. The earliest Series I stuff was totally hand wired (not sure when the 1E became available and introduction of various upgrades... someone else can probably answer that), with printed circuit cards introduced after a while that still retained hardwiring to the chassis...then finally, like your console, PC cards with headers connected to ribbon cables (And much later headers and a backplane: in the mid to late 80's, well after regular Series I production ended (?), Neotek developed a Theatre model with Preset Modules for creating Scenes in a production along with the Joy Stick Panning feature that is often mentioned when speaking of Theatre Consoles).
You have an earlier model then the one mentioned above (and with which I have direct experience), with no Presets or Sub Routing (1-3, 2-4, 3-5 etc). It appears you have L, R, C (probably for Center as Theatres often have a Center Speaker) and P(?). Maybe an early type of Preset routing...but I don't see any Preset specific stuff in the chassis. If yours are anything like the later type, the input channel preamps and EQ are likely to be quite similar if not virtually identical to recording versions...the only significant differences being in the signal routing. Pinout compatibility with recording consoles is highly unlikely due to unique routing (standard Series 1/1E card pinouts are not compatible with the later style S1 Theatre console described above...not sure if they ever made Theatre-specific S1E 's for these later consoles...but I've never come across any). BTW, here's a link with some pics of S1E stuff that is slightly earlier than yours...but you can see some of the similarities and differences: http://recordingconsoles.net/consoles/consoles.htm If there are no specific dates or codes on or in the console or related technical info and you'd like to approximate it's production date, you can check for date codes on the ICs and and sometimes capacitors and rheostats/pots. Unless you want to turn it into a big input/remix sidecar type of thing, the cards can be racked with relative ease.
