I'll try to explain this the best I can - the studio we have is a tracking
studio with keyboards instruments. The idea is to use the console as a mixer
for everything we own and have it all plugged in and live, and when we want to
record to disk, we have the 8 subs plugged into a quality computer interface
(which we don't own yet, but I've been able to replicate this idea with a
Firepod as a test). the idea should work, however we have at least 20+
keyboard instruments in the studio and only 12 channels on the Neotek. Now,
not all of the instruments will need to be plugged into the console, but most
will. Enough to pass the limit of 12 channels. I did a test involving an old
patchbay and basically tying two of the jacks together and running the cable to
1 input on the ADC patch panel. It worked, but when the second instrument was
plugged in, I saw a drop in volume overall. I figure this is not the correct
way to do what I want, and I'm sure
there must be a way to have everything plugged into the board at once and just
switch to what we want live at the time, if not everything during a jam
session, etc... Forgive me if this sounds ridiculous; I'm just not that
familiar with the Neotek yet!
