I have determined that this is NOT a nessus problem but, all other avenues exhausted, I am looking for help from the list.
I have a server that I (try to) connect to at a remote location, across the Internet. However, it appears that the port (1241) is being blocked somewhere (e.g at some ISP router). It is NOT the firewall, nor any router under our control at either end (host or remote). The server is fully functional as it DOES work from other locations. I cannot make a TCP connection on that port from our main office. I *can* make a TCP connection from other locations--just not our main office. We *can* connection from out main office to all other locations without problems. The ISP of the remote location claims to not be blocking that port (or any port). I can only assume two things: 1) The ISP is not telling me the truth, or (more likely) 2) some mid-stream ISP has the port blocked. Can anyone offer an avenue of direction on what I should look into next? Or how to go about determining where, exactly, this port is being blocked? Russell J Foster Subject, Wills, and Company e.
