I could be wrong but i believe you need either wget or lynx installed.
However since i always have them installed and in my path i dont know if
their lack would create this error.

I've gotten that error before.  Turns out the problem was that I didn't
have web access on the server I was trying to update (it's firewalled).
Make sure that you can get through to the internet (port 80) on the server.
If you can't, then that's your problem.  If you can, then I can't help.  :

When I try to update my plugins (nessus-update-plugins) I get the message:

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
cp: cannot stat '*.nasl': no such file or directory
cp: cannot stat '*.inc': no such file or directory

Is there a file I'm supposed to download first, before I run the update?
