I am running nessusd version 2.0.5 on Debian Linux 3.0r1 (uname = Linux
stalker 2.2.20-idepci #1 Sat Apr 20 12:45:19 EST 2002 i686 GNU/Linux).
I have had this strange issue for some time.

When I am running a scan against systems that have a web server and I enable
the nikto wrapper, the scan completes normally, but nikto is still running.
The nikto results do not show up in the resulting report either.

Five minutes or so after the scan has completed, I still have this from a ps
-Af:
root 30638 1 0 11:10 ? 00:00:00 nessusd: waiting for
incoming connections
root 1283 1 0 11:39 ? 00:00:26 perl /usr/bin/nikto.pl -h
<IP-ADDRESS> -p 9099 -allcgi -gener

This particular system has WebSphere listening on that port.
It also has a standard web server on port 80.
The log file reports that nikto finished successfully, but I cannot
determine which port it successfully finished on.

Whisker's results do show up in the report file.

I have the plugin timeout value set in my nessusd.conf file to 10 minutes,
but the nikto wrapper was running way over that.

Is there any additional information I can provide that might help determine
why nikto and nessus aren't communicating with each other?

Thank you!
-Jason
